IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number)


 "When you have lost your phone or had its been  stolen, you know the feeling of panic and frustrated"

 However with the modern technology it is possible to track and locate your phone using its unique International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number

So what exactly is an IMEI number?

Its a 15 to 16 digit code that's unique to every mobile device including smartphones and tablets The IMEI number serves as a digital fingerprint for your phone and it is essential for several purposes such as tracking lost or stolen devices identifying your phones model and even unlocking your phone from a carrier network.

If you’re wondering how to check your phone’s IMEI number don’t worry It’s a simple process that you can do from your device settings or by dialing a specific code. Here are the steps to follow




  1. Check the Settings Menu

If you have an Android phone, you can check your IMEI number by going to the Settings menu. Here’s how:

  • Tap on “Status.”
  • Select “IMEI Information.”
  • Your IMEI number should be displayed on the screen.

If you have an iPhone, you can check your IMEI number by following these steps:

  • Scroll down to find your IMEI number.

You can also check your IMEI number by dialing a USSD code on your phone

Open the phone app on your device

  • Dial *#06#

  • Your phone will automatically display your IMEI number

  • 3.Check the Phone’s Packaging or Receipt

If you still have your phone’s packaging or receipt, you can check for the IMEI number there. The IMEI number is usually printed on the box or included in the purchase receipt.

  1. Check the SIM Tray

Another place to check for your phone’s IMEI number is the SIM tray. If you have an iPhone, you can remove the SIM tray using a paperclip or SIM ejector tool

  1. Check the Back of the Phone

Finally you can check for your phone’s IMEI number on the back of the device In I -phones you have the IMEI numbers printed on the back of the device

IMEI number can be extremely helpful in various situations such as when you lose your phone or when you want to unlock it from a carrier’s network
