  The cost of minting other denominations of coins takes Rs 3.69 and Rs 5.54 to manufacture the Rs 5 and the current Rs 10 coins respectively

The cost of printing an Indian currency note depends on the denomination of the note. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), 

  • Rs. 10 note: Rs. 1.04 per note
  • Rs. 20 note: Rs. 1.12 per note
  • Rs. 50 note: Rs. 1.81 per note
  • Rs. 100 note: Rs. 1.79 per note
  • Rs. 200 note: Rs. 2.02 per note
  • Rs. 500 note: Rs. 2.43 per note
  • Rs. 2,000 note: Rs. 3.54 per note
                                



Its important to note that the cost of minting coins can change over time due to various factors such as fluctuations in metal prices  changes in manufacturing processes and inflation
