1st JUNE National Day

 World milk day:

Today, we attempt to answer the age-old question: what was the first guy to drink milk thinking? While his thoughts may be lost to the ether of time, we do have some knowledge about how milk came to be a popular and stable source of nutrition for early humans. Though humans began to drink milk when animals were domesticated in the Neolithic age around 9000–7000 B.C., lactose tolerance was lost in adults for all of humanity’s history before this age. Until a later genetic mutation allowed us to drink milk, early humans mostly ate fermented dairy products, which were more easily digestible.

Milk became important in many cultures, both for spiritual and logical reasons. For example, for ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Sumerians, milk was a key element in mythology. Some people in Western Africa believed the universe started with a single drop of milk. Mongolians traveled with dried horse milk that would be reconstituted and provide nourishment on long journeys.

As much as milk was worshipped . it was also ridiculed. While early Japanese Buddhists mocked those who consumed butter, Northern Europeans were thought disgusting for consuming reindeer milk. In Rome, milk was thought to be a low-class beverage, only to be consumed by farmers who had no other choice.

Global Parents Day:

On September 17, 2012, the United Nations declared June 1 as the day to observe Global Day of Parents. The day aims to stimulate awareness of the importance of parenthood and its role in providing protection and the tools needed for positive development in children. Parents are, after all, the first teachers and human interaction that a child is exposed to. Community leaders, parents, children, teachers, and family organizations get together in celebrating the day and promoting effective parenting.

On Global Parents Day, children express their gratitude to their parents for all that they have done for them. Really, our relationship with our parents is the most important and true bond that most of us will ever have, and our parents’ dedication towards us is respected and cherished on this day. Those of us who have a friendship with our parents and are able to have a healthy relationship based on trust and respect rather than authority or strict guardianship are lucky. It is truly a blessing to have good parents. .

National Olive Day :

The olive has its roots in a traditional Mediterranean diet .. but it’s enjoyed worldwide these days. So National Olive Day on June 1st  is a great opportunity to find a way to incorporate some olives into your diet! Perhaps your local grocer has an olive bar allowing you to select from the numerous varieties of olives.

Olives have more nutritional benefits than you might think. They offer a host of healthy types of fats and fatty acids, while also providing a natural source of iron. And there are far more ways to prepare olives than you probably know. Olives are grown on trees, and they can be grown for serving as a table fruit or for producing oil.

If you cook with olive oil, you can receive many of the same health benefits that eating olives provide, including the introduction of healthy fats. Grocers carry a wide variety of olive oils, so you have plenty of options for incorporating them into your recipes. National Olive Day is a great day to try eating some new varieties of olives. And it’s also a great day for learning the magic trick for getting pimento inside the green olive!

The idea of extending an olive branch to promote peace dates back to ancient Greek and Roman cultures. Someone who was losing a war in those times would use an olive branch to show that they were pleading for peace. And in the Bible, the Noah’s Ark story included a dove carrying an olive branch to indicate it had found land, considered a metaphor for peace between God and man. Now we can’t guarantee presenting an olive branch will help quash the feud you’re having with a neighbor. But bringing along two martini glasses, vodka, vermouth, and a jar of olives may work.

Dare Day:

Dare Day on June 1 is the perfect opportunity for people to break out of their shells and do something different. Yes, not all people like to take risks — and it’s this very lack of courage that makes one fall into a comfort zone where even thinking of doing something daring becomes unacceptable. Do you want to continue living a calm and boring life free of all sorts of fun activities

Dare Day is the perfect time for you to break out of your shell and shock everyone around you. Dare to be different and enjoy it while it lasts. Dare Day was created keeping this very objective in mind — to give people an opportunity to test their courage. Dedicated to daring individuals across the U.S., June 1 is the time of the year where people challenge each other and try to accomplish different tasks with boldness.

The day  however is not meant to bully anyone or force people into performing acts they find agonizing. Instead, the event was formed so friends and family across the country can have a good time and partake in some daring and fun activities.

A  lot of people also celebrate the day with the globally famous party game called ‘Truth or Dare’ in which each player is given an option to speak the truth or opt for a dare. This game has existed for centuries and aims to lighten up a party with funny yet challenging dares. The truth questions, too, are not easy to answer and may require a great deal of courage.

International Children’s Day:

Children’s Day or International Children’s Day is a commemorative day in honor of children worldwide. Celebrated as part of the 1925 Proclamation in Geneva at the World Conference on Child Welfare, the day is observed on different dates in different parts of the world. Some countries celebrate it in June, some in November, but the aim of the day has always been the same.

Since the Industrial Revolution, and the World Wars that followed, it was observed that children had been severely abused, oppressed, and deprived of basic human rights. Being weak and timid, they could easily be forced into oppression and unjust, unethical, and immoral activities. They were exploited and manipulated. Millions of them were found to be malnourished. All these discoveries were highlighted during the Geneva Conference and so the world leaders decided to protect children worldwide.

Among these activities, the main areas which were given the utmost importance were child education, nourishment, anti-human-trafficking activities, as well as stopping child labor. All these initiatives combined, and a day dedicated to spreading awareness on child protection and children’s rights was warranted and so, International Children’s Day has been celebrated and sponsored globally.

National Billboard Day:

Although National Billboard Day is relatively new, the concept of using billboards is as old as the ancient Egyptians. Messages have always needed to be passed down to people through different means, and a method that passes on the same message to the largest possible number of people is always appreciated. In modern times, billboard advertising can be traced to the adoption of fly posting in the late 15th century. Fly posting is also known as wild posting or billposting and was a guerilla marketing tactic where posters were stuck onto places of interest with wheat paste

In the early years of the 20th century in 1908, the number of people that used the highways increased in America, and Ford’s Model T was released. This move reduced the reach of roadside billboards and gradually moved advertisers to put billboards on the highways to maximize their reach, and advertisers continue to utilize this tactic today. All of these have led to National Billboard Day being celebrated as the day encourages industry professionals and businesses who use billboard advertising to share how billboards have improved their businesses or helped spread an important Public Service Announcement (PSA). The day is meant to show just how important billboards are in our lives.

Further down the years in 1796, lithography was invented by German author and actor Alois Senefelder to print text or images onto paper or other suitable material. It was initially used for musical scores and maps. Billboard advertising became more structured in 1872 when the International Bill Posters Association of North America, now known as the Outdoor Advertising Association of America, was established as a billboard lobbying group. The group set guidelines to govern the use of billboards for advertising to serve not just the public better, but the advertisers as well.
